The Strategy of Hypocrisy, 2018
The work problematizes the state of our society and the disinterest of the government for the reality in which we find ourselves. The state of the matter tells us that we have more pressing and greater problems than the purchase of an old-timer-aero fleet, so I pose a question to myself of the relevance and importance of investing astronomical amounts in an area which is so unprofitable. On the other hand, the problems in other sectors (education, economy, emigration…) are enormously larger, and are given far lesser amounts for their salvation, not to mention providing the necessary equipment needed in particular sector. I ask myself whether this is a characteristic of a country that is to be “among the most developed countries of the European Union and the world,” and whether the strategy of (potential) development is, in fact, somewhat hypocritical?!
In my own visualization, I evoke memories of my childhood; creating paper airplanes and enjoying their winding flight. Today I have landed them on the ground, i.e. in a decrepit room of a derelict factory which still bears the smell of rot of the times that are behind us, and which should stay there. The airplanes are, of course, made by hand, and are completely unique, fragile; they do not fly to drop bombs and do not succumb to malfunctions. The time will tell whether the idea of white winding flyers will see the light of day or whether we will, as we always do, let the state impose itself as the Homo Ludens with an unquenchable thirst for play which is, in this case, questionable but unquestionably hypocritical.
